to provide students with the knowledge to build parts of modern operating systems, which is studied and motivated from the viewpoint of practical design and implementation. Students learn how operating system’s components for resource management and abstraction are built from the ground up and integrated into working systems considering the challenges of reliability, multi-core, and security. The course has a significant implementation component; substantial low-level programming experience is required. Prerequisite: CSCI 6411. (Fall and spring, Every year)
